Shaw Pipeline Services' history goes back to the early 1980’s in the Canadian pipe mills where ERW pipe seams were inspected ultrasonically. In the late 1980’s a requirement for girth-weld inspection 6 utilizing this unique ultrasonic technology evolved. Shaw Pipeline Services developed an Automatic Ultrasonic System (AUT System) to assist with this requirement and completed a number of major projects for the TransCanada Pipeline.  Since 1991, Shaw Pipeline Services has developed a comprehensive range of proven ultrasonic and radiographic pipeline weld inspection services, the latest being Real Time Radiography (RTR) where automated X-Ray results are digitally displayed instantaneously for dispostioin on a computer screen. Committed to quality, safety and technological advancement, Shaw Pipeline Services has established a track record of successes unparalleled in the oil and gas inspection sector.

      Shaw Pipeline Services is please to introduce our field proven and proprietary HDUT (High Definition Ultrasonic Testing).  HDUT as a solution for inspection of girth-welds for onshore and offshore pipeline projects. HDUT to provide traditional Pulse Echo (single probe) inspection techniques with the highest resolution/definition available in the industry today, as well as Shaw Pipeline Services latest offering of HDHPA (High Definition Hybrid Phased Array).  Shaw Pipeline Services introduced this cutting edge technology to the market after 5 years of extensive achievements, developments,and evaluations. Shaw Pipeline Services has over come every challengand has applied every lesson learned in our 17 years of experience. Included within the HDUT solution are Shaw Pipeline Services' proprietary Auto Detection and SPS Audit software. Auto Detection provides assistance to the operator through the introduction of project specific acceptance criteria into our proprietary Detection Software. The software provides an additional screen detailing any relevant indications found during the initial scan that break the client's predefined exception criteria. The SPS Audit system monitors over 5,000 parameters in real time, providing feedback for any parameter which may be outside of the setup specification.
