Shaw Pipeline Services' history goes back to the early 1980’s in the Canadian pipe mills where ERW pipe seams were inspected ultrasonically. In the late 1980’s a requirement for girth-weld inspections utilizing this unique ultrasonic technology evolved. Shaw Pipeline Services developed an Automatic Ultrasonic System (AUT System) to assist with this requirement and completed a number of major projects for the TransCanada Pipeline.
